Onyx Staircase

About the project

One of the most beautiful and technically complex projects carried out by Camar. It is a monumental five-story staircase installed in a private residence in Budapest, Hungary, made entirely of Honey Onyx. This semi-precious stone was selected for its extraordinary translucency and warm tones ranging from gold to amber.

Its elaboration used the sophisticated Book Match technique, which consists of cutting consecutive blocks from the same onyx block and placing them like pages of a book to create mirror symmetry. This ensures that the natural veining continues uninterruptedly through all elements of the staircase, creating spectacular visual continuity across all five levels.
