About the project
Since March 2011, the City of Ceuta has the Revellín Theater Auditorium, a work by the prestigious Pritzker Prize-winning architect, the Portuguese Álvaro Siza. In this short period of time, the theater has met the expectations of all Ceuta residents and has become essential in the city's cultural life.
Camar participated in this iconic architectural project by supplying and installing marble cladding in lobbies, staircases and public areas. The highly singular geometry designed by Siza required custom-carved pieces with millimetric tolerances, where each joint had to be perfect to respect the formal purity of the project. White marble provides Mediterranean luminosity and contrasts with the exposed concrete volumes characteristic of the Portuguese architect.
The Revellín Auditorium is today a cultural reference in North Africa and southern Spain. Its location on the historic walls of the Revellín of the Bastion of San Ignacio adds heritage value. Working with a Pritzker like Álvaro Siza was a technical challenge and professional honor for Camar, demonstrating capacity to execute contemporary architecture projects of the highest level.
