Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain present the design award to Villa Ricotta

Their Majesties, the King and Queen of Spain presided over the XXXV edition of the Macael Awards held this past November 2022. For the companies of Macael, it represents great support for our sector and recognizes our work and effort.

Then, in his words, His Majesty King Felipe said that “…you reach this edition being a benchmark in the sector, at national and international level. That alone deserves all the recognition that tonight, the Queen and I, want to convey to you with our most sincere congratulations… equally, of course, to all this year’s award winners, with very varied, ambitious, admirable projects. All with very solid trajectories and coming from various parts of the world. You are an example of effort and good work in your field; but also outside of it, due to the influence and impact of your work…”

Design Award, to Villa Ricotta II. The Jury awards the Design Award to Villa Ricotta II, a private residence in Marbella, Málaga, made with 5000 m² of Piedra Paloma for cladding and flooring, and 200 m³ of solid material sculpted into columns, capitals, bases, cornices and other decorative elements. In it, the execution of 22 columns (14 with Corinthian-style capitals and 8 with Ionic capitals) stands out, up to 8 meters high, with the characteristic that the shafts have been made in a single piece of almost 6 m. The entire facade follows a Renaissance order, both in columns and ceiling coffering, which includes carved caissons, solid door and window frames. For the interiors, of various materials and colors, the waterjet technique has been used for panels, borders in vestibules and bathrooms.

A great honor that we are pleased to share with you.
